AI Pushes Typed Languages, Game Off Winners Announced

GitHub announced the winners of Game Off 2025, its 13th annual game jam, showcasing ten top-rated games built around the theme “WAVES.” The selections explore waves as physics, sound, emotion and chaos, ranging from light- and sound-based platformers to tide-controlled puzzles and experimental typing games, all created and reviewed by participants worldwide.

As AI tools generate more code, developers are favoring typed languages because they reduce risk and improve reliability. Type systems help catch ambiguous logic and mismatched inputs early, providing a shared contract that makes large volumes of human- and AI-written code safer to integrate.
